Gujarat Tribal Welfare Secretary leads the team The officials interact with tribals
AGAINST ODDS:A.M. Tiwari, Tribal Welfare Secretary of Gujarat, and his team crossing Kondavagu to reach Chintalapudi village in East Godavari on Tuesday. RAJAHMUNDRY: A.M. Tiwari, Tribal Welfare Secretary of Gujarat, is all praise for the activities taken up by the Rampachodavaram Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in its seven mandals. The high-level official team visited several places in the East Godavari Agency area on Tuesday, including villages like Chintalapudi, Poojaripakala, Devarapalli in Y. Ramavaram and Upper Maredumilli mandals. The team members keenly observed the implementation of MGNEGRY scheme, rubber plantation, construction of check-dams and engineering works in the Agency. Ronald Rose, Project Officer, ITDA, accompanied the Gujarat officials and explained about each project to them. The team has to cross Kondavagu stream to reach a few villages on the other side of the bank. The team members enquired tribals about the implementation of the schemes by the State government. The team hailed the State government for strictly implementing different schemes for tribal education in the Agency. The team also evinced keen interest in rubber plantation in Chintalapudi and other surrounding villages. The Project Officer explained to the team that rubber plantation was taken up in 6,000 acres and it would come up for yielding in six years and afterwards tribals would get benefit each year. Podu cultivation The Gujarat officials were also curious about sprinkler irrigation and Podu cultivation in Agency and got details from ITDA agriculture officials. The team was also briefed about the implementation of forest laws, construction of pucca roads in interior villages and other schemes.
