Board officials inspect works

SALEM: A team of senior officials from Tamil Nadu Water and Drainage (TWAD) Board and Municipal Administration Department inspected various works that are being undertaken in the city on Tuesday.

The officials including the Chairman, TWAD Board, Dr. Niranjan Mardi, the Managing Director, TWAD Board, Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Director, Municipal Administration, P. Senthilkumar, and Chief Engineer, Municipal Administration, S. Reghunathan inspected the works that are being executed in the city.

Accompanied by Salem Corporation Commissioner Dr K.S. Palanisamy and Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini, the team visited the site where solid waste management project is being implemented at Chettichavadi and the site where gasifier crematorium is being built. They held discussion with the members of Amaithi Arakattalai (Peace Trust) Rajendra Prasad and Selvamaligai S Manickam, which will maintain it.

Later they also discussed the issues confronting the schemes and asked the officials to remove the hurdles and expedite the same.
