Coimbatore: The Toddy Movement representatives have announced that they will give up their agitation plan of distributing toddy at the World Classical Tamil Conference venue, after a meeting they had with Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. The Movement's Field Co-ordinator, S. Nallasamy said that the representatives met the Chief Minister today in the city and presented a memorandum. After reading it, the Chief Minister had reportedly said, “Toddy is important and essential” and promised to look into their demands. He had reportedly said, “Let us successfully conduct the World Classical Tamil Conference.”
