HYDERABAD: The Lok Satta Party on Tuesday announced that it was not in the ‘byelection race' in Telangana as the atmosphere was not conducive for spreading its line of thought. A party press release advised its cadres to set aside parties and vote for the best among the contestants.
The party had decided to keep away from the byelections because the tense situation in the region would not permit the promotion of a healthy debate on safeguarding the interests of all sections of society. Also, it would not be fair for the party to contest the byelections that were taking place precisely on the issue of bifurcation of the State because they were engaged in finding a solution that was acceptable to all.
