500 saplings planted

HUBLI: As many as 500 saplings were planted by railway officials and scouts and guides during the phase-II of Massive Tree Plantation Programme here on Wednesday.

Divisional Railway Manager of Hubli and president of Bharat Scouts and Guides Adesh Sharma, vice-president of Bharat Scouts and Guides and Chief Electrical Engineer, South Western Railway, V.K. Tempe, and State Chief Commissioner and Chief Personnel Officer, SWR, Amit Kumar Brahmo were among those who planted saplings along the boundary of the Railway Sports Ground on Club Road.

Nearly 400 scouts, guides, rovers, rangers and commissioners participated in the programme.

Railway officials, including R. Baskaran, S.K. Gupta, P. Shameer Basha, Gabriel Anthony Pillai and Timothy Gonmei participated in the programme.
