Sreedharan inspects new Delhi-Gurgaon Metro corridor
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The newly-opened metro rail link between Qutub Minar in Delhi and HUDA City Centre in Gurgaon was inspected by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director E. Sreedharan on Wednesday.
Dr. Sreedharan was accompanied by DMRC Director (Electrical) Satish Kumar, DMRC Director (Operations) Raj Kumar and Chief Project Manager of the line, Daljeet Singh. The inspection lasted three hours from 8-30 a.m.
During the inspection, Dr. Sreedharan ordered an immediate increase in the parking space at the Qutub Minar metro station. Additional land pockets within the station, earlier identified for greening, will be used for temporary parking until the rush on the station subsides. The rush is expected to lessen by August, when the line up to Central Secretariat becomes operational.
Dr. Sreedharan also checked the work at the Chhattarpur station, which is not yet open to the public. He reviewed the special steel structures and technology being used to construct the station.
