Mumbai: External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and the former President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, visited eminent cartoonist R.K. Laxman in the Breach Candy Hospital here on Wednesday.
Mr. Laxman is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
“The meeting lasted for about 10 minutes. Dad [Mr. Laxman] recognised him and started crying. It was an emotional reaction. So, that's a good sign that he is conscious. Mr. Krishna brought a message from the Prime Minister that all are praying for his speedy recovery,” Usha Srinivas, Mr. Laxman's daughter-in-law, told The Hindu.
Condition stable
Ms. Srinivas said Mr. Laxman's condition was much better and he could recognise people.
