Selections for admission to AP Sports School

KARIMNAGAR: Selection process for admission into the Andhra Pradesh Sports School in Hakimpet, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, began at the Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar on Thursday.

In spite of incessant rain, the budding sportspersons came in large numbers to participate in the selection process for admission into the prestigious sports school.

The coaches from the sports school from Hyderabad and PETs of the district conducted the physical fitness tests for the students.

The students were selected on the basis of their height and weight, vertical jump, standing bar jump, 6x10 shuttle run, medicine ball throw, 30 metres flying start and 800 metres run.

Besides, the authorities also conducted the flexibility test of students.

The students selected at the district-level camp would undergo another State-level test, which would be held from July 15 to 22 in Hyderabad.
