‘Most urinary bladder disorders can be cured'

VISAKHAPATNAM: Problems relating to urinary bladder resulting in loss of one's control over discharge of urine can be solved in most of the cases if the patient consults a doctor, said Head of the Department of Urology of Andhra Medical College and King George Hospital Chodisetty Subba Rao here on Thursday.

Continence Week

Many people silently suffer because they were not aware that treatment would solve their problem, Dr. Subba Rao said at a press conference held as part of the ongoing World Continence Week (June 21-26) to explain to the people that there was a solution to the problem.

The problem would crop up due to reasons like brain or vertebrae damaged due to an accident, or due to old age, brain diseases, etc.

The problem is noticed mostly in those who crossed 45 years and women are more prone than men.

New drugs

A lot of progress had been made during the last decade making diagnosis and treatment easy.

New drugs were bringing a lot of relief to those who were suffering silently, he added.

If the problem could not be solved, the patient would be advised how to deal with it.

Awareness drive

Cipla company is conducting an awareness programme and supplying drugs to patients.

Assistant professors V. Rajasekhar and Chandrasekhar were also present along with Cipla territory manager K. Srininvasa Rao.
