VIJAYAWADA: The new industrial policy of the State government will only benefit industrialists and big business houses, but will not lead to the generation of new jobs or wealth, the Communist Party of India (CPI) State council said in a resolution here on Thursday. State council member B.J. Chandrasekhar Rao and AIYF State general secretary G. Eswaraiah, briefing the media, said that the new industrial policy appeared to be a ploy to hand over public lands to industrialists and business houses. Tuition fee The second resolution of the State council was on failure of the State government to reimburse tuition fee for BCs and other weaker section students. The council asked the government to release the dues immediately. Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said while Tamil Nadu was successfully holding the first world conference of Tamil as a classical language, Andhra Pradesh did not even have a proper official language committee. The council demanded that the State government match the Rs. 100 crores sanctioned by the Central government for the development of Telugu as a classical language with an equal amount and prepare a definite plan of action for its development. The council in another resolution condemned the removal of cultural affairs from the purview of the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. There was a vested interest in removing culture from the supervision of the Telugu University and handing it over to the Department of Culture, according to the resolution.
