HYDERABAD: The CBI suspects that the leakage of questions of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) could have been going on for the past ten years or so and that some more railway officials could have been involved in the scam.

The CBI, which had arrested ten persons including the suspended RRB Chairman, suspects that the scamsters used to get a copy of the question paper in connivance with board officials before the examination date and provided the same to aspirants mobilised by agents.

“Those in our custody disclosed this during interrogation. But we have to establish it,” a CBI official said. He maintained that some more railway officials could be involved in the scam.

The CBI has named 17 accused persons in the FIR and 10 of them have been arrested till now. Cases under Section 120 (B) (conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating) and under Section 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act were registered against the accused.

Meanwhile, the Special Court on Thursday remanded to judicial custody the suspended RRB Chairman, Satyendra Mohan Sharma, and Divisional Railway Manager of Raipur in Chhattisgarh, G. Sethi, till July 1. The two IRS officers were taken to Chanchalguda prison later.
