Digvijay Singh

London: The former Union Minister and sitting Lok Sabha member from Bihar, Digvijay Singh, died here on Friday following a brain haemorrhage. He was 55.

Mr. Singh, who was Minister of State for External Affairs in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led government, came here earlier this month with a Commonwealth shooting team as the President of the National Rifle Association of India. On June 10, he suffered a heart attack and was admitted to St. Thomas hospital, family sources said. He suffered the brain haemorrhage while in the hospital. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

A five-time MP, Mr. Singh was at present representing the Banka constituency as an independent. He was a close associate of the former Prime Minister, Chandra Shekhar. — PTI
