Indian girls in fine form

KOCHI: India crushed Syria 97-44 for its third victory in the 20th FIBA Asian under-18 girls basketball championship at Surat Thani, Thailand, on Friday.

India had earlier beaten Sri Lanka 86-39 and Laos 117-45 in the championship's Level II (Second Division).

India, which is currently on top of the six-team Level II with six points, plays Philippines on Saturday and host Thailand on Sunday.

The results (league): India 97 (Amruta Yeshawant Bhuskute 23, Soniya Joy 17, Rajapriyadharshini Rajaganapathi 16) bt Syria 44.

India 86 (Rajapriyadharshini 12, K. Kavita 12, Rajguru Sneha 14) bt Sri Lanka 39.
