Donors' help sought for temple renovation

For Sri Kailasanathar temple at Maruvathur
|
THANJAVUR: Iraivan Narpani Mandram at Maruvathur in Valangaiman taluk in Tiruvarur district has sought the co-operation of the donors for renovation of Sri Kailasanathar temple at Maruvathur village in Valangaiman taluk in Tiruvarur district.
In a press release issued here on Sunday, the Mandram said that the temple was built 400 years ago. But it is in a dilapidated condition.The villagers formed a trust "Iraivan Narpani Mandram" and with the contribution from some donors, the renovation work was started.
The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department has contributed Rs 2.65 lakh (part finance) to complete the construction of the Mahamandapam. The separate portion of the temple housing Periyanayaki Amman has been fully built anew from foundation to Vimanam. Works in some areas are in various stages of progress. Donors help is needed for renovation of other areas of work. Interested persons may contact phone numbher 044-26242139 or send crossed cheque or demand draft (favouring Iraivan Narpani Mandram) payable at Valangaiman Indian Overseas Bank. Such cheques may be sent to T.K.Nadarajan, No two, 50th street, Korattur, Chennai-600080, said a press release issued here on Sunday.
