NEW DELHI: Annuraj Singh shot an impressive 386 out of 400 in women's air pistol in the shooting World Cup in Belgrade. Though her score was good enough to figure in the final, Annuraj could not compete in the final as she was entered in the MQS section. She had rounds of 96, 96, 98 and 96. The eventual gold medallist Celine Goberville of France had shot 386 and followed that with a 101.5 in the final. Anisa Sayyed was also equally impressive with a score of 381, but the three shooters in the main event, Shweta Chaudhry, Heena Sidhu and Sonia Rai were unable to shoot anything above 378. It was a similar story in men's air pistol as Amanpreet Singh, competing in the MQS section, came up with a 583 following a series of 96, 96, 99, 97, 97 and 98. Omkar Singh was the best among the Indians in the main event and was placed 36th in a field of 82 with a score of 575. The results: Men's air pistol: 1. Mauro Badaracchi (Ita) 685.9 (586); 2. Franck Dumoulin (Fra) 685.7 (585); 3. Vladimir Isakov (Rus) 684.8 (585); 36. Omkar Singh 575; 56. Gurpal Singh 569; 57. Om Prakash 569. MQS: Amanpreet Singh 583. Women's air pistol: 1. Celine Goberville (Fra) 487.5 (386); 2. Antoaneta Boneva (Bul) 487.4 (386); 3. Olena Kostevych (Ukr) 487.3 (389); 34. Shweta Chaudhry 378; 42. Heena Sidhu 377; 49. Sonia Rai 375.
