Students take out awareness rally

Dangers of drug abuse explained in Nagapattinam

SOCIAL CAUSE:Students taking out a rally in Nagapattinam.

NAGAPATTINAM: To mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking that was observed on June 26, a rally was flagged off from here by the District Revenue Officer A. Annadurai on Tuesday.

The rally witnessed participation from over 300 students carrying placards to drive home the dangers of drug abuse.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Annadurai pointed out the symbolism of the day was to create an awareness of the perils of drug abuse.

The rally that was flagged off from the office of the Revenue Divisional Officer reached the Government Headquarters Hospital, where an orientation on evils of drug consumption and the consequent addiction was held.

N.Sukumaran, RDO, and Veeerachami, Chief Educational Officer, were among the participants.
