Congress, TDP target Harish
Staff Reporter
SANGAREDDY: The ruling Congress and the opposition TDP appear to have seriously decided to take on TRS former MLA T. Harish Rao this time in the byelections.
So far in the general elections held in 2004 and 2009, both these parties aligned with the sub-regional party for their own political reasons . This had given advantage to the TRS to attract the workers of Congress in 2004 and of TDP in 2009. As both the parties failed to develop capable leadership in the constituency for the past decade or so, workers of these parties slowly got attached to the TRS, unofficially. Now both the parties are trying to correct the mistake committed in the past. As part of that, these parties kick-started the campaign challenging the TRS in its bastion. The first meeting held by the Congress at Siddipet on Monday and the second meeting at Nanganoor on Tuesday targeted both Harish Rao and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Similarly, the TDP which held its first meeting at Siddipet on Monday made it clear that they would retaliate if the TRS tried to prevent them from campaigning in the constituency. The TDP would be holding its meeting at Siddipet on Wednesday.
