The Cabinet decided to create 23 posts for the college. It also sanctioned eight posts for the insemination centre. The Chief Minister said the Cabinet decided to upgrade the posts of 30 sub-inspectors in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to that of inspectors of police. The Executive Vice-President of the State Council for Science, Technology and Environment would be appointed as ex-officio Principal Secretary. The Cabinet approved a proposal to divest six acres of vested forest in Thalappally taluk of Thrissur district to the Revenue Department for assignment to eligible settlers. Mr. Achuthanandan said that the Cabinet was yet to take up the report of the committee of secretaries assigned to examine issues connected to the proposed notification of 17,349 acres in the Kannan Devan Hills of Idukki district as reserve forest.
