KOLKATA: The West Bengal government will recruit 4,000 policemen, according to Home Secretary Samar Sen. Advertisements will be placed in this regard. He said 3,500 personnel, who were already on the panel of the Kolkata Police force, would be inducted into the cadre. The deployment of personnel alongside the Central paramilitary in 21 blocks in three districts affected by extremism had further constrained the availability of personnel.
