Halappa's medical records given to court

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday dropped further proceedings against the Superintendent of Victoria Hospital B.G. Tilak and others after he appeared in person before the court and also filed medical records pertaining to the hospitalisation and treatment undergone by the former Minister Hartala Halappa.

The court had on the last occasion had taken serious exception to the absence of Dr. Tilak and also the failure of the hospital authorities to file records relating to Mr. Halappa.

When the matter came up today, the petitioner, Raghavendra, a city-based advocate, contended that Mr. Halappa had never spent a day in jail even though he was arrested on a complaint or rape. He said when in Shimoga, Mr. Halappa got himself admitted to McGann Hospital. When Mr. Halappa was shifted to Bangalore, he was in Victoria Hospital. He also said that the medical records of Mr. Halappa had not been filed so far.
