Award for Gokul?

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Denying allegations that the Government had yielded to the mining lobby by suspending Karwar Deputy Conservator of Forests R. Gokul for seizing iron ore being illegally transported to the Belekeri port, Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Thursday said the Government was considering honouring the official with an award. “We have given him a free hand,” he claimed.

Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde had referred to the alleged move to suspend this official as one of the reasons for his decision to resign.
