KOLKATA: Bengal began its Santosh Trophy preparations announcing a list of 39 probables under coach Shabbir Ali. Bengal, seeded directly in the quarterfinal league stage, begins its campaign on July 31. In an attempt to regain the title after a break of 10 years the Bengal coach planned to have almost a month-long programme which will start with the selection trials for the probables on July 6. The number will be cut down to 25 from which the final team will be decided. The final section of players will train together in a residential camp in the last week of the preparatory process before the quarterfinals, informed the coach.
