Hike in compensation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to enhance the compensation paid to victims of wild elephants' attack to Rs.2 lakh, Forest Minister Benoy Viswom told the Assembly on Thursday. Responding to a calling attention motion by Aryadan Mohammed (Congress), the Forest Minister said that when the LDF came to power, the amount was only Rs.50,000.
