BHUBANESWAR: City-based Orissa Modern Art Gallery has announced to host a week-long national level child art festival on its premises in November that would conclude coinciding with the Children's Day celebrations on November 14.
Gallery director Tarakant Parida informed that the festival would be the first of its kind for Orissa and it would be competitive in nature. There shall be two groups for the participants – junior group (age up to 10) and senior group (age 11 to 16), he elaborated. There have been five cash prizes of Rs.2, 000 each for both the groups besides three gold medals, five silver and an equal number of bronze medals for the winners of the competitions, he added.
The Gallery has invited entries from child artists from across the country. Each participant has to deposit an entry fee of Rs.150 along with a framed painting of 22x30 inches size with Orissa Modern Art Gallery, 132, Forest Park, Bhubaneswar-751009 latest by September 25. A jusy comprising of eminent artists would selct the award winner works, Parida said and added apart from the awarded works, selected works shall be sgowcased in the week-long exhibition at the Gallery.
