THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president V. Muraleedharan said here on Friday that the CPI(M) had launched a tirade against the judiciary to divert attention from real issues. Addressing a press conference here, he said the government wanted to divert the attention of people from issues related to PDP leader Abdul Nasir Maudany, Inspector General of Police Tomin Thachankary and Jamaat-e-Islami and hike in milk prices. The BJP had divergent views on some of the court verdicts but opposed the CPI(M) leaders speaking like rowdies, he said. The party wanted the State government to bring legislation to nullify the court order against holding meetings on public roads. Mr. Muraleedharan said that the courts were not showing social commitment if one went by some of the recent judgments. They should not encroach upon the domain of legislature and executive. He said the conference of office-bearers of the BJP State unit had decided to support the Bharat bandh on July 5 though a second bandh in ten days would cause hardships to the people.
