Thiruvananthapuram: As part of the Technopark-based RM Education Solution India's (RMESI) ongoing School Welfare Programme, school uniforms and shoes were given away to students of Government Lower Primary School, Karichar (Kaniyapuram sub-district), recently. RM group's chief financial officer Iain McIntosh and non-resident managing director Chris Clements gave away the items, a press note issued here said. The executives later interacted with the students and staff and spent over an hour at the school. Mr. McIntosh urged the students to study hard and respect their teachers. He also stressed the importance of education for all as part of ensuring growth and development. School Principal Leela said it was a kind gesture and felt good that the company had selected the school for the programme, the press note said. “I see this as part of our social responsibility, and being in the education field we are very keen to see our children grow up to be good citizens. We would just like to do our bit to contribute to their learning process in any way we can,” the press note quoted company chief executive officer Connell Viegas. A majority of students of the school hail from economically backward families, the press note said. RMESI has been supporting local schools under its welfare programme since 2007. RM Education Solutions India Private Limited (RMESI) is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the U.K.-based RM Plc. and has been operating in Technopark since 2003. RMESI supports RM Plc. UK, in providing software solutions through a wide range of futuristic education related products and services targeted at schools in the UK, North America and Australia, the press note added.
