SIDDIPET (MEDAK DISTRICT): The filing of nomination papers for Siddipet Assembly constituency began on Saturday. The first nomination was filed by Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) former MLA T. Harish before returning officer Mastanaiah at his office. He was accompanied by few supporters.

Later speaking to reporters, Mr. Rao said that another two sets of nominations would be filed on July 9 along with A-form and B-form. Stating that he won the Assembly elections the last three times with increased majority (first 24,000; second time 54,000 and the third time 64,000), the former MLA said that he would win this election with much more majority.

Warangal Staff Reporter adds : Amid fanfare and celebrations, TRS candidate D. Vinay Bhaskar filed his nomination papers for the Warangal West Assembly seat for the ensuing by-election here on Saturday.

Accompanied by senior leader B. Vinod Kumar and BJP former MLA M. Dharma Rao, he reached the RDO office around 1.30 p.m. and filed his nomination papers. Coinciding with the time, the party organised solidarity rallies and flag hoisting ceremonies in all residential colonies in the town.

Later, addressing a press conference, CPI, BJP and TRS leaders and JAC leaders appealed to the people to ensure victory of Mr. Vinay Bhaskar with a thumping majority.

BJP leader T. Rajeswar Rao and M. Dharma Rao said they would support the TRS in the byelections. They said their party was committed for separate Telangana, but the TDP and Congress parties were adopting double standards. The people should reject the candidates of those parties.

The JAC leaders – Prof T. Papi Reddy and others wanted the people to convey a strong message on separate Telangana to Sri Krishna Committee by electing all the TRS candidates in the by-elections.
