‘Take steps so that all children are in school'

Review meet on Sarvashiksha Abhiyan and Right to Education held


MAHABUBNAGAR: Principal Secretary Primary Education Chandana Khan asked the district officials to take necessary steps so that all the children could be in the school.

The Principal Secretary held a review meeting with officials on Sarvashiksha Abhiyan and Right to Education 2009 here on Saturday asked the officers of Labour Department and NCLP to conduct special drive once in ten days and take steps to admit children into schools.

She also advised the project director DRDA to give more emphasis to SHGS on education.

She also directed S.E Rural water supply to provide drinking water facility on war-footing to all the schools.

Mrs.Chandana Khan advised the district Collector to open 100 adult education centres in low literacy areas in the district in first phase. SSA (Rajiv Vidya Mission) State project director Ali Rafat informed that according to the Right to Education Act 2009 every child below 14 years must be in the schools. He asked the officials of the Education Department and others to strive hard to improve literacy rate as well as to provide quality education. District Collector M. Purusthotham Reddy requested the Principal Secretary to sanction a KGBV and an RBC in Amrabad mandal in the district to admit all children in tribal area into the school.

He also assured that 100 adult literacy centres would be started soon in low literacy areas in the district.

Janardhan Reddy, Director Adult Education and other district officials were also present.
