Cancer care centre opened

Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATANM: Dr. Budd's Cancer Centre, a new facility at the Lazarus Hospital here, was opened on Saturday.

The centre would provide state of the art treatment to cancer by following western standards and provide comprehensive care, said a cancer specialist from the US B.L.N. Raju, who is heading the centre, at a press conference. Machinery alone was not important but a quality consultant behind the machines was necessary, Dr. Raju said.

This was a multi-disciplinary clinic and would provide preventive, curative and supportive services.

Genuine compassion and personal touch would be assured, said Dr. Raju.

The first Dr. Budd's Clinic was opened at the Lazarus Hospital in Hyderabad and he would conduct camps all over north coastal Andhra soon. Plans were on to open clinics all over AP in two to three years, he added. CEO of Lazarus Hospital Mahesh Nayak was also present.
