KOCHI: A seminar on the theme “Emerging dimensions for corporate professionals” was organised by the Centre for Corporate Development & Training, in association with the Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) here. Inaugurating the seminar, K. Narayana Kurup, former acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Madras, said: “Sound policies and actions that fulfil the aspirations of the people should form the bedrock of any corporate governance. Transparency shall be the hall-mark of all corporate actions — transparency to the shareholders, to the creditors, to the statutory authorities, to the courts and to everybody who deals with the corporate entity. To be successful, apart from making profit at any cost, every corporation should be committed to a core ideology, as otherwise it would be open to the charge of acting against public interest”. Bharat N. Khona, former president of ICCI, presided.
