Faith healer found murdered

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A sexagenarian faith healer was found murdered in a house at Hafeezbabanagar of Kanchanbagh on Saturday.

The victim, Hamid Khan Quadri, was last seen on Friday when an auto-rickshaw driver, Ibrahim, took him out in his car to perform ‘dua' for the recovery of his ailing wife. The house in which Quadri's body was found with his throat slit was hired by Ibrahim recently, and naturally suspicions arose about Ibrahim's possible involvement in the killing, South Zone DCP N. Mahdusudhan Reddy told reporters.

Quadri used to live at Alzibel colony of Chandrayanagutta. Ibrahim of the same locality moved to another area few years ago.

The three-wheeler driver earlier also approached Quadri to perform prayers for the health of his wife suffering from some disease.

A few days ago, he again contacted Quadri and requested him to perform ‘dua'. He picked up the healer from the latter's house in a car on Friday.

“It is not yet known what happened afterwards. Apparently, the victim was brought to the rented house in Hafeezbabanagar and murdered.

The motive and persons behind it are to be ascertained,” the DCP said.

Ibrahim was absconding.
