Two MI engineers arrested by ACB

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have arrested Deputy Executive Engineer E. Laxmi Narasimhulu, and Assistant Executive Engineer A. Venkataramana of the Minor Irrigation Department, Kurnool district, after they caught the duo taking bribes of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 2,000 respectively from the complainant for doing an official favour.

A press release issued by ACB here on Monday said that the engineers were caught on July 3 near the Nandyal Revenue Divisional office. They had demanded the amounts for preparing/forwarding the estimates relating to Vengannapalli water tank flood damage repair work worth Rs. 4.9 lakh. The officials recovered the tainted cash from their possession.
