Interpretation centre for Mangalavanam

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The interpretation centre of the Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary (MBS) would be an Onam present for the Nature lovers of Kochi.

The centre is expected to become operational by August, according to park managers.

A well-stacked library will also be set up as part of the interpretation centre of the sanctuary, which is one of the smallest bird sanctuaries of the country.

The interpretation centre will be set up with adequate audio-visual support facilities for imparting the basics of wildlife conservation and Nature to visitors.

The managers of the sanctuary located within the Kochi city are planning to provide facilities for online booking of Nature camps.

The school authorities who wish to book slots can log on to www.mangalavanam.org, the website of the MBS, and book suitable slots. The re-designed website with more interactive features will be hosted shortly, officials said.
