Sparks fly at VMC meet over ‘protocol violation'

VIJAYAWADA: Corporators of the Opposition parties in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation general body on Tuesday protested against the ‘protocol violation' in the civic reception hosted for Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy by the VMC in Tummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram. The issue came up for discussion as soon as the general body met to take up the business that could not be completed on Saturday. The Opposition corporators disrupted the proceedings, saying protocol was violated intentionally at the civic reception. Some of them eventually staged a walkout in protest.
