Staff Reporter

MADURAI: Birth certificates, registered between 1985 and 2009, could be downloaded from the Madurai Corporation website free of cost.

Launching the new facility, Corporation Commissioner S. Sebastine said that the certificates, with the signature of the officials, could be downloaded from www.maduraicorporation.in without having to come to the corporation office. However, people could continue to get these certificates from the Corporation offices too, he added. Similarly, for the certificates of death that were registered since 2000 could be downloaded from the website. For getting certificates for birth and death that registered before or after the mentioned period, people will have to adopt the conventional method of applying manually at the corporation offices. Chief Engineer K. Sakthivel and City Health Officer Subramanian were among those who were present.
