SSLC, Plus Two toppers awarded cash prizes

TIRUCHI: State Transport Minister K. N. Nehru honoured the first three district-level top rankers in the SSLC and Plus Two examinations with cash awards sanctioned by the District Welfare Committee here on Wednesday. As a special case, three differently- abled toppers in the city were also honoured with cash prizes. A total of 18 toppers got cash awards totalling Rs.69,000.

With students securing equal marks, the district has witnessed many toppers in the first and second rank. The first, second and third rank holders in the Plus Two and SSLC examinations received Rs.5,000, Rs. 4,000 and Rs.3,000 respectively.

Besides, six students got Rs.24,000 towards pursuing their degrees in colleges and polytechnics. 20 orphan students of Khaja Mian Higher Secondary School were given free books worth Rs.250.
