NEW DELHI: National champion Sharadha Narayana has tested positive for a banned drug.
The Tamil Nadu sprinter, who won the last two National titles, was tested at the Open National at Kochi in May. She had clocked a personal best 11.56 seconds while winning the title there.
That timing happened to be the season best in India, apart from being one of the top timings by an Indian in a long time.
Sharadha faces a two-year ban if the anti-doping rule violation charge is proved. — Special Correspondent
