THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Industries Minister Elamaram Karim has said the government is initiating steps to start an industrial park especially for non-resident Keralites (NoRKs). Answering a question in the Assembly on Thursday, he said Kerala State Industries Development Corporation had been asked to draw up the details of the project. Non-residents keen on starting industrial ventures would also be provided with loans at low interest rates. Answering another question, he said a unit of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited would commence functioning in Kasaragod next month. Defence Minister A.K. Antony would commission the unit on August 13. He said Kerala Infrastructure Development Corporation would float a special purpose vehicle with private entrepreneurs for setting up a food processing park at Kinaloor in Kozhikode district. The Union government had offered an assistance of Rs.50 crore for the proposed park.
