Man from Haryana shot dead, robbed
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man was stabbed and then shot dead before being robbed of his belongings at Sadar Bazar railway station here.
Ram Prakash, a resident of Jind in Haryana, reached Sadar Bazar on board the Ferozepur Janata Express train and was climbing the stairs towards the exit way when he was intercepted by four men around 2 p.m.
They tried to snatch a bag from Ram Prakash. When he resisted, they stabbed him about four times and then shot him. The robbers decamped with the bag. “Witnesses told us that they also heard a gunshot. There is a wound in his armpit that appears to be a gunshot injury,” said a police officer. The victim was rushed to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The police have registered a murder case and informed Ram Prakash's relatives.
