Handicrafts expo begins

VIZIANAGARAM: Superintendent of Police Navin Gulati inaugurated all-India Craft Fair at Revenue Community Hall, near RTC Complex, here on Thursday.

The handloom and handicrafts exhibition-cum sale being organised by Visakha Artisans Development Society will remain open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day till July 26.

On the occasion, Mr. Gulati said that “as it is labour-intensive industry, all must encourage artisans.”

The exhibition has on display exquisite woodcarvings, Moradabad brass articles, Banjara embroideries, Narasapur laces, Hyderabad pearls, Kondapalli and Etikoppaka toys, Rajasthan and Ferozabad bangles, leather goods and Orissa jute crafts, Benaras silk sarees, Pochampalli bed sheets and many more.

Mohd. Nasim, president of the society, was expecting a good turnout.
