NEW DELHI: Association for Learning Performing Arts and Normative Action (ALPANA), a non-government organisation, presented a kaleidoscope of dance forms and music items at Poorva Sanskritik Kendra in East Delhi this past weekend. Budding classical dancers and singers and special children of ALPANA performed at the seventh edition of “Indradhanush-2010”. “The underlying purpose of hosting this annual festival is to give an opportunity to differently-abled children to perform on the same platform as normal kids. This increases their confidence level and makes them realise that they can achieve their dreams. This year we also had a painting and drawing exhibition in which all children participated,” said Alpana Nayak of ALPANA. The programme started with “Lakshan Geet” presented by the NGO's talented singers. Children mesmerised the audience by playing a variety of music on the casio. Physically-challenged children presented “Unity in Diversity” in which they performed folk dances from different regions of the country followed by a song, “ Hum Sab Bharatiya Hai….”, to spread the message of national integration. Young artistes presented a prayer to Lord Ganesha titled “Namami Vighna Raja Twam”. In the dance item “Shiva Tandava” dancers prayed to Lord Shiva to seek his blessings.
