Dipika in under-19 final

CHENNAI: Top-seeded Dipika Pallikal reached the girls' under-19 final of the Asian junior squash championship in Colombo on Friday.

In the semifinal, Dipika defeated teammate Anaka Alankamony 11-9, 11-7, 11-6.

Reigning runner-up Dipika will face Low Wee Nee of Malaysia in the title-round.

Boys: U-19: Aditya Jagtap bt Muhd A Idraikie (Mal) 16-18, 11-6, 11-8, 11-9; Mahesh Mangaonkar lost to Waqas Mehboob (Pak) 15-13, 8-11, 8-11, 9-11.

Girls: U-19: Dipika Pallikal bt TanYan Xiu (Mal) 11-7, 7-11, 11-9, 13-11; Anaka Alankamony bt Saumya Karki (Ind) 3-11, 13-11, 10-12, 12-10, 11-8.

U-15: Lakshya Ragvendra bt Jadalee L. Jiaee (Mal) 11-8, 11-9, 11-6 .
