Fishermen wing of DMK slams attack
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The fishermen wing of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on Saturday staged a demonstration at Mylapore to protest against the continuing attacks, allegedly by the Sri Lankan Navy, on Tamil Nadu fishermen.
Party functionaries, including State secretary of the fishermen's wing Era. Bernard and DMK South Chennai district secretary J. Anbazhagan participated in the protest.
A delegation of DMK members later submitted a memorandum to V. Krishnamoorthy, Deputy High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in southern India. It deplored the recent attack on the fishermen of Nagapattinam district.
