Family robbed at knife point

COIMBATORE: A four-member gang robbed a family of eight sovereigns of jewellery, Rs. 5,000 in cash and three mobiles on Saturday night.

The police said around 8.30 p.m., the gang entered the house of Karuppusamy (43) of Vazhukal and attacked him with wooden logs. At knife point, they took away the valuables. Before leaving the house, they locked up him, his wife Usha Nandini and son Naveen in the pooja room. The incident came to light when Naveen managed to come out of the room and bring his parents out.

The police have registered a case.
