Repayment of loan: guard ends life
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: A security guard committed suicide by hanging himself at his house at Saptagiri Colony in Neredmet on Sunday after recovery agents of a private bank allegedly pressured him to repay the loan amount.
D. Mahender Prasad (27) borrowed Rs.40,000 from the bank a few months ago but failed to repay it due to financial problems. On Sunday morning, two persons came to his house by introducing themselves as recovery agents of the bank. They allegedly argued with Prasad over the delay in paying the amount and warned him with dire consequences if he failed to repay the money immediately.
Depressed over this, Prasad walked into his room and killed himself. Based on a complaint lodged by Prasad's wife Lavanya, police registered a case of abetment to commit suicide.
