Tejkumar stays in the lead

MANGALORE: IM Thejkumar of South Western Railway, playing black, defeated IM Rahul Sangma on the top board in 54 moves to hold on to his lead with seven points after the seventh round of the Mangalore FIDE-rated open chess tournament here on Wednesday.

GMs Thipsay, Neelotpal Das and Laxman, IM Satyapragyan, Meghan Gupte, Arjun Tiwari and Navin Kanna are one point behind the leader.
