Axis Bank net profit moves up 32 %

CHENNAI: Axis Bank has reported a 32 per cent rise in its first quarter net profit at Rs. 741.88 crore against

Rs. 562.04 crore in the year-ago period. Demand deposits grew by 38.39 per cent year-on-year to Rs. 147,479 crore as on June 30, 2010 from Rs. 110,256.35 crore on June 30, 2009 while advances stood at Rs. 108,609.11 crore against Rs. 78,104.58 crore. Net interest income registered a rise of 45 per cent to Rs. 1,513.77 crore from Rs.1,045.63 crore. — Corporate Reporter
