Sandilya and Niranjan shine

HYDERABAD: Centuries by Sandilya (123 batting, 13 x 4, 1 x 6) and P. S. Niranjan (140 batting, 19 x 4, 1 x 6) helped India Cements score 295 for two against Deccan Chronicle on the first day of the three-day A-Division league cricket championship match at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Thursday.

The scores:

A-Division three-day league: 1st day: Evergreen 210 for seven (J. Anshul Lal 99, Nimeesh Reddy 34, Kanishk Naidu three for 39, Minash Gabriel three for 57) vs MP Colts.

India Cements 295 for two (Sandilya 123 batting, P. S. Niranjan batting 140) vs Deccan Chronicle.

Hyd Bottling 199 (Syed Ali 33, Ajay 50 not out, Shiv Shanker four for 53) vs BDL one for no loss.

AOC 228 (Sandeep Singh 55, Kiran Kumar 49, Sarvesh Kumar three for 44) vs Ensconse 30 for one.

A-Division (two-day) league:

CCOB 416 for eight bt Team Speed 112 ( Syed Muzzamil Hussian six for 51, Shaik Mohammed four for 29).

Shekar stars in BDL win

Striker Shekar starred in Bharat Dynamics Ltd's impressive 4-0 win over City College Old Boys in the Rahim centenary football league championship at Gymkhana Grounds.

Shekar struck in the 43rd, 77th and 85th minutes.

Midfielder Hassan scored off a fine effort in the 82nd minute to complete the tally for the winners.

Golden Mile run

Athletics Coaching Academy (Hyderabad), in association with Hyderabad District Athletics Association, will organise the 17th AP Golden Mile run on July 18.

The run will start from NTR Gardens at 6.00 a.m.
