MYSORE: Members of the Heritage Golf Club Employees' Association launched an indefinite agitation in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Thursday, demanding higher wages and higher compensation for their land, which was acquired for the golf club project.

The club is coming up near Kodakola, and 600 to 700 acres had been acquired at Kochanahalli, Thandavapura and Adakanahalli villages, the association said in a press release. The association also said that the club provided jobs to the land-losers and had promised them higher wages. “But after employing the land-losers, the club has been paying less wages,” the protesters alleged. They urged the developers of the club to sanction higher wages as well as pay them more compensation.
