Sports competitions organised to mark coronation

Guntur: Teams from Pedanandipadu and Prathipadu hogged the limelight at the sports competitions held at BR Stadium to mark the 500 years of Sri Krishnadevaraya's coronation celebrations.

District Sports Development Officer Prathipati Ramakrishna inaugurated the sports competitions and coordinated the event.

In the Kabbadi competitions, Pedanandipadu was the winner followed by Prathipadu while in Volleyball competition, Prathipadu turned the tables on Pedanandipadu.

In the 100 metres competition, K Prakash was the winner followed by Anil Kumar.

In shot-put competitions, T Sunil emerged as the winner followed by D Vijay Raju who was the runner-up.

The selected players will take part in the district level competitions to be held on the foot hills of Kondaveedu fort on July 18.
